Thursday 23rd January H/W : Movie Shots and PEAL Paragraph

In this scene of the film Inception, there is an extreme close-up of a spinning top spinning.

I think this scene is intriguing because normally in a extreme close-up shot , its normally an emotion of a person or a kind-of zoom into an object but in this scene, its just a spinning top. It could be a symbol of some sort for time passing or time slowing down (but if you’ve seen the film then you know would know what the spinning top is about).

In the scene, the spinning top is on top of a green surface with a green background. This could mean that the object is currently on a green table or on the floor. Furthermore, there are some drops of water on the surface with the spinning top. Could this mean that it had been raining in the scene or an accidental spill of water?

The scene is a extreme close-up shot of a spinning top spinning. It could be a symbol for time passing or it slowing down. In the scene, there is the spinning top on a green surface with water. This could mean downpour in the events of the film. But most of all, what is the spinning top’s real meaning and its purpose of spinning in the scene.
