These words were from ‘Live and Let Die’ by Ian Fleming.
1. Efface – Erase a mark from a surface.
2. Distend – For an object to swell out because of pressure from within the inside of the object.
3. Supplicate – To ask for humbly or earnestly. Almost similar to praying.
4. Refinement – The process of removing impurities from a substance.
5. Consensus – An accepted opinion or decision among a group of people.
6. Pliant – Easily bent or flexible.
7. Hamper – To prevent the free movement or action of an object or someone.
8. Reconnoitring – Exploring in order to gain information.
9. Upholstered – To supply furniture with it contents. E.G. Springs, cushions and covering fabric.
10. Compassionate – Feeling or showing compassion.

Hello Sky,
This is a fine collection of words. Fleming is always on my list of writers to read but I haven’t got round to it yet. There are too many books to read and there is never enough time.
I have two suggestions for you:
1)Which is the word that appeals to you most out of this list? It doesn’t have to be a technical or ‘impressive’ word; it is important to build a repertoire that appeals you, even if it’s just because of the sound of the words (I still keep lists of words).
2) Could you begin to use any of these words in sentences of your own?
